Born into a close knit working class family in Bexley, South London in the 1960's Robert has been playing and writing  from his late teens and for all of his adult life. First turned onto music listening to his brother and sisters record collections of T Rex, Roxy Music and David Bowie he soon found his own niche in early Queen and Thin Lizzy songs. Massively influenced by the Punk Rock and New Wave explosion of the late 1970's, this powerful, political yet catchy music soon flooded his album and singles compilation. Listening to The Clash, The Undertones and The Jam his first songs were born. As Robert matured so did his taste in music. Although never forgetting his early influences., Bob Dylan, The Who and Bruce Springsteen became equally as  important in him learning his craft.

Playing in bands through the 1980's and having exclusivity to their songwriting, a considerable catalogue of material has been accumulated. With the 1990's came even more good music to be absorbed and learnt from. Paul Weller, the Brit Pop scene and music as diverse as Tom Waits to Beck began to have an impact. Different band but still principle songwriter he grew in confidence and ability. The turn of the century found a new love of 'Country /Blues rock music, in particular Ryan Adams and Rufus Wainright.

Latterly performing with high end covers bands he has never stopped writing and being influenced with new contempory acts such as Richard Hawley and Amy Winehouse standing out as favorites.

2017 see's Robert embark on the project that very first inspired him to pick up the guitar at 14 years old. "Solo, Singer, Songwriter"
